Azalea Cup 2019

The 8th edition of the the Azalea Cup Hurling Invitational took place on Nov. 9, 2019 at Sweetwater Park in Thomson, GA. Huge thanks go out to Sports Strategies, Highrail Southern Eatery, and the Thomson-McDuffie County departments of both Tourism & Recreation for helping us put on our largest tournament and afters celebrations, ever. The format was 10-a-side, and we had four other clubs join us from across the southeast: Charleston, Greenville, Atlanta, and first-time participant Charlotte. Augusta showed up in force and split into two teams. So with six teams competing on two fields, we split into two pools of three teams each and conducted a round-robin on each field. Greenville and Charlotte won their respective pools and faced off for the title, with Charlotte taking home the Azalea Cup in a tight and exciting match. The scores for all of the games are listed below. After the final whistle, everyone met up at Highrail in downtown Thomson to celebrate together.
