Spring Gaelic Sports League 2018

It started in January with our draft party and poc fada contest. Blue Team Captain Jimmy Parker and Red Team Captain James Davidson strategized and chose their teams carefully to play five hurling matches and two Gaelic football matches. Everyone made a $10 donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to enter the league, and several new folks signed on to learn the sports. Both teams proved to be very evenly throughout the season, trading wins back and forth. The rosters and results are below. Scores are represented like this Goals-Points (Total). The red team came away with the title and Alex Johnson Memorial Hurl after claiming the most league table points on the season, 31 pts. to 25 pts.

March 25 Game 3 hurling: Red 2-8 (14), Blue 1-7 (10).
April 29 Game 4 hurling: Red 3-10 (19), Blue 0-8 (8).
May 6 Game 5 football: Blue 4-6 (18), Red 3-5 (14).
June 3 Game 6 hurling: Red 4-7 (19), Blue 4-4 (16)
July 8 Game 7 hurling: Red 10-8 (38), Blue 6-3 (21).
